Butterflies Rainbow Dot Print

This unique, colorful handmade cotton paper is created with three hand-printed layers. First a rainbow “dot-print” of colors is screenprinted as the underpainting on the base paper. Secondly, the base paper is then overlayed with a white “reverse”patterned screenprint of butterfly shapes, that allows the base color to appear through as the shapes. Lastly the black details of the butterfly body are screen printed as the final layer on top. The final result is a whimsical, contemporary rainbow design with accents of dotted-printing scattered throughout, similar to a randomly placed half tone screen.
